Well,
it's time for another TAR matchup! This one is
a doozy!
We got Shane Van Boening against
Mika Immonen in a Race to 100 10 ball. The
schedule is first one to 35 games on Day 1, first
one to 70 games on Day 2 and finish out the last day
with the first one to 100.
It's being played
at Amsterdam Billiards in New York on October 12,
13th and 14th. Play starts at 6:30 pm Eastern.
This is the 3rd match I"ve done, with TAR's
approval. I have to say the Oscar and John
match was brutal for keeping stats, just because
each game took forever and there was just no flow to
it. The tables were too tight and it made it
hard for either player to get going or to run more
that 2 or 3 balls in a row. We did get to see
how well Oscar's safety play was though.
I
would have like to keep some stats on the safety
play, but I am just too busy on each game to be able
to do anything more. Plus when it comes to
safety play, there's too much grey area to really
analyze how good the safety was and how well the
opponent responded.
Doing all
of this makes for a very busy time on my end,
between trying to describe the game itself and
putting in all the numbers. I'm also literally
stuck at the monitor, as there is no breaks in the
action, so my ass is crying by the end of the night.
I hope you enjoy the stats, everyone was very
appreciative last time, so I hope everyone enjoys
this show. It should be a offensive
extravaganza!!!!
Remember at the bottom
left of the stat page, you will see a Day 1, Day 2,
Day 3 and a Totals tab, just click on those to see
the corresponding data for that tab.
Just click
on the pictures below, of which match you would like
to see the stats from.

Break
- I'm simply putting a 1 in there on who's breaking,
so the spreadsheet can add it up.
Balls on Break
- how many balls on the
break they made. I was faced with a dilemma on
making balls on the break and scratching. I included
the balls on the break even when they scratched as
to better give a idea on how many balls are going
down on the break.
10 ball on break - If
they make the 10 on the break in the bottom 2 corner
pockets, it does not count. So, even if they make a
10 on the break in the bottom 2 pockets, it will not
count in this area, unless it's a legal win.
No.
of balls made in the game
- This is the
number of balls made in the game by each player,
excluding any balls made on the break. So, if you
added the balls on the break and the no. of balls in
the game, that should give you total balls made by a
player.
No. of makeable missed
shots - This was a stat that is open to
interpretation. I put this in there, because I was
curious how many shots a pro player would miss, that
they were expected to make. So, that is all this
stat was. I made a decision based upon the player,
on what shot's he truly missed that he should have
made. So this stat, is all about missed shots
that a pro should have made. Not missed safeties,
missed kicks or anything like that.
Break and Run - The shooter had
to be the one breaking, he had to make a ball and he
had to get a win, without the opponent coming to the
table. Not the other guy breaking dry and the other
one comes to the table and runs 10 and out. Doesn't
count. Shooter has to break and get the win, all in
the same inning.
Who won - Pretty self
explanatory there.. I put a 1 in who won, so the
spreadsheet adds it all up in the end. Should be the
score total.
